Pitney Bowes joins National Franking Machine Agreement framework
Pitney Bowes is delighted to announce that, following a competitive tender process via EU procurement procedures, it has been selected as one of four approved suppliers on the UK National Franking Machine Agreement (NFMA).
This new Framework offers UK universities and colleges and the Scottish public sector a fully compliant route to procuring mailing equipment at competitive, pre-negotiated tariffs and terms of trade. The equipment available includes franking machines, folder inserters, letter openers, print and mail aggregation software and mail track-and-trace systems.
Contracts managed under the Framework are estimated to be worth up to £5 million annually. The framework went live on 1 August 2012 and is for a three-year period with a possible extension.
Phil Hutchison, Pitney Bowes’ marketing director, says: “This is a landmark agreement for Pitney Bowes and comes at a time when higher education institutions and the public sector are looking to identify ways of delivering savings. We have a range of products and services that use innovation to drive out avoidable costs and optimise postage spend.”
The Framework was initiated as a result of collaboration between Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges (APUC), on behalf of higher education’s National Postal and Distribution Group (NPDG), and other Scottish procurement bodies.
NPDG was created in 1996 with the remit of identifying the areas of postal and mailroom supplies and services which would be suitable for national higher education collaboration, with the aim of achieving the best possible value for money.
Pitney Bowes team of Account Managers will be working hard with individual organisations to identify cost savings opportunities.
